For Johanel (John Anthony Eko) you could say that music runs in the family as he was introduced to music at a young age by his father. His father achieved some success in the industry and more importantly encouraged Johanel's love for music.  Recalling the days when he would hear his father sing and harmonize, Johanel chose Pop and R & B because he has a good voice and that type of music is what he loves.

He was also influenced and motivated by famous artists including R.Kelly, The Beetles, Otis Redding, James Blunt and Bryan Adams. Singing is not the only talent that Johanel is blessed with. He also writes and composes songs and plays the guitar well. Hailing from Cross River State, Nigeria he is the second of three in his family. Johanel is the Nigerian Bryan Adams of our time. With a touch of Classic Rock and R&B, his hot, new single titled “Boma Oda” is already making waves on the radio. 

This is followed up by two more hot singles, “Fumnilola” and “Na Dem Sabi”, which talk to those who are in love and those facing negativity from other people. His forthcoming album titled “Unskipable” is truly world class and tells about Johanel's experiences. It encourages those who are passing through challenging times to restore their hopes, be thankful for what they have, and to look positively towards life.
